The President, reveling in the John Kerry "gaffe" says:
"The senator's suggestion that the men and women of our military are somehow uneducated is insulting and shameful," ..."The men and women who serve in our all-volunteer armed forces are plenty smart and are serving because they are patriots"
Indeed, a chimpanzee must appear an intellectual giant compared to you, Mr. President.
But the intelligence of our soldiers was never an issue that Kerry raised. If the President were courageous enough to actually address the issue, his words would be more along the lines of these:
"the Senator's suggestion that anyone lacking a college degree would have such difficulty finding a job that pays greater than the minimum wage we haven't raised in a decade, leaving the Army as the country's last enthusiastic employer, is a false and malignant attack on the robust economy my tax cuts for the wealthy have created. There are literally hundreds of open positions that pay more than 5.15 an hour out there."
But alas, he is not, so once again he chose Instead a noisy diversion that uses our troops as puppets.
If it weren't so pathetic, and didn't have such traction, I would have ignored it, but it must be responded to.
